Entertainment with Li Lin (Acrobatics and Sichuan Changing Faces) and Potluck Dinner
Westchester, N.Y. September 30, chapter members met at The Church in the Highlands in White Plains for a pot luck supper prepared by Frank Miller. Magician Zhao Lao Shih entertained, and our host Bob Chase presented a history of the chapter, written to commemorate its 60th anniversary. Incoming Dean Kevin Walsh presented outgoing Dean Alice Avouris with a past dean's pin. A selection of gently-used organ music was available for members to take home.

Bronxville Organ Crawl and Hymn/Choir Festival
Westchester, N.Y.October 28: chapter members joined an organ crawl in Bronxville that made vitist to four instruments. They met at Concordia College in Bronxville and boarded a bus to Christ Church, where hosts Christopher Wells and Vaughn Mauren demonstrated the church's 2009 Casavant. At St. Joseph’s Church, host John Strybos, assisted by oboist Josh Hall, demonstrated the 1988 Moller which has voicing and additions by Steuart Goodwin (2001). Then it was on to the Reformed Church, where host Mark Peterson demonstrated the 1957 Schantz (tonal revisions by Mann & Trupiano and console by Harris Precision Products). Members then returned to Concordia College for a hymn festival conducted by Jason Thoms, with Deb Reiss accompanying on the Jaeckel organ. A reception and light refreshments followed.

Acoustics for Worship Spaces Speaker: Dan Clayton, Clayton Acoustics Group

Westchester, N.Y. November 12, chapter members met at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Peekskill (Janine Wallour-Thwaite, host) to hear Dan Clayton of the Clayton Acoustics Group speak on "Acoustics in Worship Spaces." His presentation, copiously illustrated with slides and photos, included defining good acoustics for worships spaces, how acousticians can help churches, examples of good acoustics and poor acoustics, and possible solutions for improving problem situations. A lively question and answer session followed, which continued over refreshments and even into the parking lot.

Twelfth Night
Westchester, N.Y. Jan. 6, the chapter held its annual Twelfth Night party at the home of Sub-Dean Eileen Laurence. Participants enjoyed food prepared by chapter members, swapped stories of busy holiday activities, sang carols around the piano, and enjoyed each other’s company. – Kevin Walsh

Virgil Fox Centennial
Feb. 24, chapter members met at West Center Church in Bronxville for a program titled “Something Marvelous to Share: The Life and Music of Virgil Fox.” Given Fox’s long association with Rodgers Organs, it was fitting that this program was presented in a church with a Rodgers instrument. Members Frank Miller, Rick Tripodi and our host Arnold Ostlund performed several of Fox’s signature pieces, joined by West Center’s soprano Catherine Forbes. Virgil Fox’s long-time secretary, Marilyn Brennan, shared stories of this great musician. A reception followed. - Kevin Walsh

Christopher Houlihan Recital
April 21, the chapter presented Christopher Houlihan in recital at Rye Presbyterian Church, playing the church’s four-manual Casavant organ. His program included works by Bach, Debussy, Saint-Saëns, and Liszt’s monumental Fantasy and Fugue on “Ad nos, ad salutarem undam”. A reception followed. - Kevin Walsh

Members' Recital
May 19, the chapter's annual members' recital took place at St. Ann's Church in Ossining. Members Dale Bonenberger, Joyce Gardner (joined by Alice Avouris on flute), Timothy Keenan-Devlin, Lowell Knauer (host), Lana Kollath, and Edwin Wallace played a wide variety of music on the church's 1990 Noack organ. A Reception followed.
